DTEK: no schedules due to emergency mode

According to DTEK (report in the UNN outlet), Kyiv is currently in an emergency mode of the power system. After the latest attack, power to critical infrastructure has been restored, but the grid requires manual balancing — electricity is switched on and off depending on the current state of the system. Because of this, implementing permanent, predictable outage schedules today is technically impossible.

Why this is happening

Briefly on the reasons: damage to network elements and limited generation capacity create risks of overload. To avoid larger failures and to ensure the operation of hospitals, water utilities and other critical facilities, operators are forced to make decisions in real time — manually redirecting energy flows and restricting supply in places where it is safer.
