The import of Chinese electric vehicles to Ukraine has sharply increased ahead of the cancellation of the VAT exemption. This is evidenced by data from the Ukravtoprom association for October 2025.
Sales Statistics
During the month, 3,114 passenger cars of Chinese production were sold in Ukraine — 2.6 times more than in October 2024.
The vast majority (92%) of the purchased cars are electric vehicles.
Demand growth has been recorded in both market segments:
- New cars sold 2,512 units — 157% more compared to October 2024
- Used cars — 602 units, or 164% more

Reason for Growth
The sharp increase in demand is linked to the impending cancellation of the VAT exemption on the import of electric vehicles. Ukrainians are rushing to purchase electric cars at more favorable prices before the new tax regulations come into effect.
