Why it matters
On the day of the fourth anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion, temporary traffic restrictions will be in place in Kyiv. Official reasons — security measures related to the arrival of foreign delegations. This is part of standard security practice: when high-ranking officials visit the city, the State Guard coordinates movement and ensures security corridors.
"Temporary restrictions on the roads will be in effect due to security measures involving foreign delegations."
— State Guard
What will change for transport
Metro: the "Maidan Nezalezhnosti" station will be closed for entry and exit approximately until 11:00 — it will remain open only as a transfer point between lines. In case of an alert the station will be used as a shelter, the Kyiv City State Administration emphasizes.
"The 'Maidan Nezalezhnosti' metro station will be closed for entry and exit from the start of service until approximately 11:00 — it will operate only as a transfer between lines, but in case of an alert the station will function as a shelter."

Practical advice
Plan trips in advance, check updates on the official channels of the Kyiv City State Administration and the State Guard, and allow extra time. If possible, use alternative routes or public transport on different lines. In case of an emergency, follow the instructions of the services — the metro may be used as a shelter.
Context and consequences
The organization of such events signals international support: in past years Kyiv has hosted high-ranking officials, including heads of the European Commission and governments. Security coordination ensures that visits take place safely and without undue risk to the city. For Kyiv residents this means temporary inconveniences for an important foreign-policy and security purpose.
Follow updates from official sources and consider alternative routes — this is how the impact of the measures on daily life is minimized.
