Record strike on Ukraine: 1,567 drones and 56 missiles in 30 hours
The attack of May 13-14 became the largest throughout the full-scale war. The enemy deployed 1,567 attack drones and 56 missiles. For comparison: the previous record — the shelling of September 7, 2025 — consisted of 810 unmanned aircraft and 13 missiles. The May wave exceeded it almost twofold.
In Kyiv — 24 killed, about 50 wounded. A direct missile hit completely destroyed an entrance of a nine-story building in the Darnytskyy district — 34 apartments were demolished. Friday, May 15, was declared a day of mourning in the capital.
The total cost of the attack — according to GUR estimates based on Russian Ministry of Defense contracts — is approximately $400-450 million. Repelling such a raid, according to Zelenskyy, costs Ukraine tens of millions of euros in a single night. Anti-missiles for Patriot, IRIS-T and NASAMS are expensive and in short supply.
On May 15, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited the entire foreign diplomatic corps to the site of the tragedy. Minister Andriy Sybiga instructed to immediately initiate a UN Security Council meeting — it is scheduled for May 19. China presides over the Security Council in May 2026.

Strait of Hormuz: 1,600 vessels trapped
Two and a half months after the start of the shelling, the main problem of Hormuz is no longer combat operations, but global uncertainty. Between 1,550 and 1,600 vessels from 87 countries worldwide are blocked. On board — at least 18 million tons of oil, Poland's annual consumption. Of 53 large container ships that entered the gulf before the war, 42 still cannot leave.
Insurance for one tanker voyage has increased from $120-155 thousand in peacetime to $800 thousand — $1.5 million now. Instability already works as a global tax on the economy. Shipping companies predict that unblocking the gulf — even after a political settlement — will take months.
The Yermak case: a fortune teller, 460 million and bail from "friends"
The Anti-Corruption Court sent former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak to custody for 60 days with a bail of 140 million hryvnias. The funds were collected within a week. The total amount of money laundering in the case is estimated at 460 million hryvnias — through the construction of the "Dynastiya" cottage complex near Kyiv.
During the trial, it was separately noted that Yermak was forbidden to contact his personal fortune teller. At the same time, an interview with former presidential press secretary Yulia Mendel — given to the pro-Russian Carlson and saturated with Kremlin theses — was actively discussed in the information space.
Bilohorodka: kindergarten, grant and "Baba Yaga against"
The situation around the old kindergarten in Bilohorodka, built back in the 1970s, has escalated. The technical condition of the building is critical: old networks cannot withstand the load, even connecting a generator poses a fire risk.
Bilohorodka village council proposed a temporary solution — to transfer children to renovated kindergartens in Horenychyy and Muzychyy. In parallel, the community won an international grant for the reconstruction of three facilities simultaneously: a school in Sviatopetrivskyi and two kindergartens, including one in Bilohorodka. The tender and contractor have already been determined, and financing is expected to arrive.
Despite this, an "initiative group" became active on social networks, protesting without delving into details and without proposing alternative solutions. The next meeting of parents, village council representatives and the contractor is scheduled for May 20. The editorial team is monitoring developments and preparing a special report.
