The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the law "On the Features of State Support for Territorial Communities in Border Regions," which provides for additional funding and tax benefits for communities located in the border zone.

According to the law, such communities will receive a special status that will allow them to apply for additional subsidies from the state budget for infrastructure and security development. In addition, tax benefits are provided for enterprises operating in these communities for a period of up to 5 years.

“This law is an important step towards ensuring balanced development across all regions of Ukraine. Border communities often face unique challenges, and the state must support them,” said Oksana Bilous, head of the parliamentary committee on regional development.

Particular attention in the law is given to security issues. In particular, it provides for the creation of special municipal guards and additional funding for video surveillance and alert systems.

Although the Bilohorod community is not classified as a border community, its leadership is actively studying the implementation of this law, as many state support tools can be adapted for other communities as well.
