The United States is threatening to cut off aid to Ukraine in order to force it to agree to a framework peace deal mediated by Washington. This was reported by Reuters, citing two informed sources.

Pressure on Kyiv

According to the sources, the U.S. is threatening to halt arms supplies and intelligence sharing. They claim that Kyiv is currently under significantly greater pressure from Washington than during any previous peace negotiations.

The American side wants Ukraine to sign the framework agreement by next Thursday, November 27.

"They want to stop the war and they want Ukraine to pay for it," one of the sources said.

The Office of the President of Ukraine had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.

Context

On the same day, the Office of the President confirmed that Zelensky received a draft plan from the U.S.
