First Meeting with European Partners

Yermak reported that he has already held the first meeting with the national security advisors of the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany: Jonathan Powell, Emmanuel Bonne, and Günther Saathoff.

A meeting with the American delegation is set to follow.

"The atmosphere is very constructive. In general, a number of meetings in various formats are planned for today. We continue to work together to achieve a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine."

– Yermak wrote.

Comment from Zelensky

Later, the president confirmed that teams are meeting in Switzerland to work on steps to end the war.

"It is good that diplomacy is being activated and that the conversation can be constructive. The Ukrainian and American teams, along with our European partners' teams, are in close contact, and I really hope there will be a result."

– noted the head of state.

He added that it is necessary to stop the bloodshed and ensure that the war is not reignited. Zelensky is awaiting the outcomes of the discussions and hopes that all participants will be constructive.

American Delegation

Reuters, citing an unnamed American official, reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff have already arrived in Geneva.

"We hope to finalize the last details... to draft an agreement that is beneficial for them [Ukraine]. Nothing will be achieved until the two presidents meet."

– said the official, referring to U.S. leader Donald Trump and Zelensky.

Context

On November 20, NBC News reported that Trump approved a new 28-point plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. It involves Ukraine's renunciation of Donbas and part of its armaments, along with other concessions primarily from Kyiv.

Zelensky stated that Ukraine and the U.S. agreed to work together with Europe on a peace plan at the advisor level.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Umierov previously stated that officials from Ukraine and the U.S. would begin consultations on possible parameters for a future peace agreement in Switzerland. Representatives from Europe will participate in the negotiations.

War

Russia attacked Kharkiv with kamikaze drones on the evening of November 23. Three people were killed and 15 were injured, including a 12-year-old child. Strikes were recorded in the Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts.
