Russia has kidnapped about 19,500 children. Ukraine has identified several hundred locations where they are being held.
Ukraine has managed to identify hundreds of locations in Russia where Ukrainian children are located. Every day, more of them are being found, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported.
“We have found about 400 places in Russia where kidnapped children are being held. It is a real fact that these people took this child, kidnapped this child. It is a long and complicated journey. We are finding more and more children every day,” he noted.
More than 1,600 children kidnapped by Russia have already returned home. Currently, about 19,500 Ukrainian boys and girls are in Russia.
In order to return the children, Kyiv is cooperating with various intelligence agencies and countries, including Qatar and the Vatican. The President of Ukraine also mentioned U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, whose assistance helped eight children reunite with their families.
“It is very important to involve as many leaders and prominent people as possible—not just presidents and prime ministers,” he added.
