Russia storms Myrnohrad to block supply routes to Pokrovsk

Russian forces are storming Myrnohrad, trying to encircle the city and cut off logistics to Pokrovsk. The occupiers are advancing toward Rivne and Svitle. Marines have taken four Russians prisoner; three are former convicts.

Russian forces are pressing on Myrnohrad to encircle the city and cut off land links with Pokrovsk. This was reported by the Seventh Corps of the Air Assault Forces.

Directions of the advance

The occupiers are moving toward the settlements of Rivne and Svitlye, attempting to encircle Myrnohrad. Air assault units are holding back the enemy's advance in the Krasnyi Lyman area.

The northern part of the city is being stormed by the enemy in small infantry groups. The Russians are moving around the clock, using aerial drones to adjust their movements.

"We are reinforcing our grouping in the city to defend the southern outskirts. In this zone the enemy is trying to mass manpower for further attempts to advance"

– the military reported.

Captures

In the northeast of Myrnohrad, the 38th Separate Marine Brigade captured four Russian occupiers who were assaulting the city. Three of the detainees are former prisoners who were released after signing military contracts.

According to the Russians, before the assault they lived for four days in the basement of a building in a neighboring settlement. The assault troops had neither food nor water.

After their capture, Ukrainian forces provided the prisoners with all necessary conditions and assistance in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law.

Intensity of fighting

The General Staff reported that as of 08:00 on November 25 there had been 61 combat engagements on the Pokrovsk direction, including near Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.

Context

On November 12 the Seventh Corps of the Air Assault Forces reported that the Russians were preparing to assault Myrnohrad from the Hrodivka side using armored vehicles.

On November 21 the military noted that the Russian army had pulled up reserves to the Pokrovsk area to replenish personnel losses.
