On the night of November 14, Russia attacked Ukraine with approximately 430 drones and 18 missiles, including ballistic and aerobalistic ones, reported President Volodymyr Zelensky. In the Sumy region, the enemy struck with a hypersonic missile "Zircon," and the Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv was damaged.
As a result of the attack, dozens were injured, including children and a pregnant woman. Four people were killed.
"A specially calculated attack for maximum harm to people and civilian infrastructure. In Kyiv alone, there are destructions in dozens of high-rise buildings. The Azerbaijani embassy was damaged by debris from the 'Iskander'," – stated the president.
The main target was the capital, but strikes were also made on the Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions.
According to preliminary data, in the morning, the Russians used "Zircon" in the Sumy region. The head of the Sumy City Military Administration, Serhiy Kryvosheienko, reported a powerful explosion at 07:05 – a missile strike on the outskirts of the city. Initially, there were no casualties.
The explosion damaged the asphalt and ruptured a fire hydrant. The section of the road to Staro Selo is temporarily closed, but the exit from the city is free.
REFERENCE 3M22 "Zircon" – an anti-ship hypersonic missile in service with the Russian Federation since January 2023. Specifications: range 600-1500 km, speed up to 8-9 Mach, warhead 300-400 kg. Russia has already used it against Kyiv in February 2024.
The Air Forces clarified: a total of 19 missiles (13 ballistic) and 430 UAVs of various types (about 300 – "Shaheds").
Russia launched: three "Kinzhal," one "Zircon," six "Iskander-K"/"Kalibr" missiles, and nine "Iskander-M"/KN-23.
The main direction was Kyiv. The Kyiv region, Kharkiv region, Odesa region, Poltava region, and Cherkasy region were also affected.
405 UAVs and 14 missiles were shot down. Hits from missiles and 23 drones were recorded at 13 locations, with debris falling at 44 locations.
