Village near Bucha, where Russian forces were stationed, to become recycling industry hub for 710 million hryvnias

# Cabinet registers Bucha Techno Garden II industrial park in Myrotske The Cabinet of Ministers has registered the Bucha Techno Garden II industrial park in Myrotske, a village in Bucha district that experienced Russian occupation. Investors plan to establish food processing and machinery manufacturing facilities, though the real test will be whether the registration translates into actual factory construction.

The Cabinet of Ministers included a new facility in the industrial parks registry on the Kyiv region — Bucha Techno Garden II in the village of Myrotske in Bucha District. The area is 12.6 hectares, the term is 30 years, declared investments are 710 million hryvnias, and expected jobs are 378.

This is already the second park within the larger Bucha Techno Garden concept — an ambitious project covering over 3,400 hectares, encompassing several settlements of the Bucha community, including the territory of the Antonov cargo airport. The first phase was initiated by Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk in 2020–2021; in 2024, the first park received 150 million hryvnias in state support — the largest among all industrial parks in Ukraine that year.

What exactly will be built

The site in Myrotske is planned to host food processing enterprises: processing and canning of fruits and vegetables, production of machinery and equipment. The profile is not high-tech, but practical: agro-processing and metalworking provide a faster start during wartime and post-war periods than IT clusters or pharmaceuticals.

"Industrial parks are an important tool for economic recovery and job creation in regions."

The Bucha context that press releases don't mention

Myrotske is not an abstract settlement. The village is part of the Bucha community, which became a symbol of Russian atrocities in 2022. It was here and in neighboring villages that occupation occurred, after which part of the infrastructure was destroyed and some residents were displaced. The construction of an industrial park in this location is both an economic and symbolic act.

In parallel, in June 2024, three parties — South Korean state company K-water, the mayor of Bucha, and the owner of the registered park — signed a memorandum of cooperation. The Korean partners have already allocated approximately 1 million dollars for project planning, and representatives of Hyundai and other interested companies were present at the meeting.

Registration ≠ construction

The registry of industrial parks in Ukraine is actively expanding: as of the end of 2025, it already contains over 120 facilities. However, there is a gap between registration and actual production. According to the Ministry of Economy, only 37 industrial enterprises in parks have been built or are under construction. In other words, less than a third of registered facilities are actually operating.

  • 710 million hryvnias — declared amount of private investment
  • 378 — expected new jobs
  • 12.6 hectares — area of the Myrotske site
  • 30 years — term of park operation
  • ~1 million USD — already invested by Korean partners in planning

Global practice, cited by the Ministry of Economy, shows that one hectare of industrial park can generate $7–10 million in annual revenue. If Bucha Techno Garden II reaches this indicator, the community would receive approximately $90–125 million per year — a sum that could entirely transform the region's post-occupation economy.

The question is not whether a sign with the park's name will appear. The question is whether real residents will arrive by the time Korean partners move from memorandums to contracts — and what will happen to the project if this does not occur before the active phase of the war ends.

On July 15, the International Handball Federation Council lifted sanctions imposed in 2022 against the national teams of Russia and Belarus, with full restoration of national symbols — citing International Olympic Committee decisions from May 7 and July 7, 2026. The federation simultaneously expressed "solidarity with Ukraine," however it provided no mechanism to suspend reintegration in case of escalation of the war.
