The war has brought new economic realities, among which rising prices have become one of the most tangible challenges for Ukrainian families. However, our people demonstrate an incredible ability to adapt and find solutions even in the most difficult conditions.
Scale of Economic Changes
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine's economy has undergone deep transformations. Inflation peaked at 26.6% in 2022, driven by the destruction of infrastructure, disruption of logistics chains, and devaluation of the hryvnia.
The prices of essential goods have increased the most:
- Food products rose by 41.6% in 2022
- Fruits increased by 39.3%
- Vegetables rose by 25.3%
- Electricity tariffs increased by 83.3%
How Ukrainians Adapted
Our compatriots have shown ingenuity and wisdom in adapting to new conditions:
Change in Consumer Habits – people began to choose cheaper alternatives for goods and save on non-food expenses
Financial Literacy – more actively using deposits, foreign currency savings, and investment instruments
Support for One Another – increased mutual exchange, joint purchases, and assistance in communities
Positive Trends
It is important to note that the situation is gradually stabilizing. In 2023, inflation decreased to 5.1% thanks to the stabilization measures of the National Bank and the government. This demonstrates the effectiveness of anti-crisis actions and the economy's ability to recover.
Government Support
The government has implemented a number of measures to support the population:
- Moratorium on increasing utility tariffs
- Price regulation for critically important goods
- Currency interventions to stabilize the exchange rate
The Role of Communities in Overcoming Challenges
In this difficult time, the role of local communities and volunteer organizations is especially important. It is the collective efforts, mutual support, and solidarity that help people overcome economic hardships.
Our Response to Challenges
At Razom UA, we are actively working to support Ukrainian families:
Humanitarian Aid – providing essential goods to those affected by rising prices
Educational Programs – teaching financial literacy and rational budget planning
Business Support – helping small entrepreneurs adapt to new economic conditions
Stronger Together
Economic challenges, although difficult, show our ability to unite and find common solutions. Every family that has learned to effectively plan its budget, every community that has organized mutual aid – these are steps toward our collective resilience.
It is important to remember: temporary difficulties will not break us, but will make us stronger. Together, we are laying the foundation for the recovery and prosperity of Ukraine after victory.
