The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procedure for implementing the "Health Screening 40+" program. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced the start of preparations for the launch.
Purpose of the program
The initiative is aimed at the early detection of diseases that affect life expectancy and quality of life. The project will start on 1 January 2026. UAH 10 billion has been allocated in the state budget to finance the screening.
Which examinations are included
The national program will include a questionnaire and assessment of individual risks, including cardiovascular disease, the risk of type 2 diabetes, and mental health status, as well as a physical examination and laboratory tests that reflect the function of the heart, blood vessels, and kidneys.
After completing the screening, the participant will receive personalized recommendations regarding lifestyle and medical follow-up. If necessary, the doctor may prescribe medicines available through the "Affordable Medicines" program free of charge or with a partial co-payment.
Anyone aged 40 and over can participate in the project.
How to receive the payment
An invitation to undergo the examination is sent via the Diia app 30 days after the participant's birthday. After accepting the invitation, the user must set up a Diia.Card in the app or use an existing one — within seven days UAH 2,000 will be credited to it. The funds may only be spent on services under the 40+ screening.
Those who do not use Diia must, within 30 days after their birthday, order a plastic card with a special account at designated banks and contact the nearest Centre for Administrative Services (CNAP). At the CNAP they will help submit the application, verify identity, and specify the special account to which UAH 2,000 will be deposited within seven days to pay for the examination.
After the funds are credited, screening can be carried out at any healthcare facility participating in the program — state, communal, or private — regardless of place of residence. The Ministry of Health will publish the list of participants shortly.
