The National Bank, together with the UAnimals charitable foundation, collected more than UAH 2 million in coins as part of the #PowerCoins initiative.
Where the funds will go
The funds will be used to treat animals injured because of the war, to construct dog houses and enclosures, to supply food to shelters with evacuated animals, and to provide feed for stray animals in frontline areas.
Participants and timeframe
The campaign ran across Ukraine from 15 September to 5 December. Coins accepted were of denominations 10 and 50 kopiykas and 1, 2, 5, 10 hryvnias. Partner banks Oschadbank and PUMB transferred the collected funds to UAnimals’ account. More than 115,000 schoolchildren, students and educators from nearly 700 educational institutions joined the initiative.
"More than 2 million hryvnias collected in coins is not just money, but a symbol of the care of children, teachers, students and many Ukrainians for those who cannot protect themselves. We are grateful to every participant and our partners for their trust and active participation"
