The National Bank has launched a new series of circulating commemorative coins with a face value of 10 hryvnias called “We are strong. We are together.” On the reverse side, instead of an image of Hetman Ivan Mazepa, there is a stylized map of Ukraine with clear administrative borders and one region highlighted.
Design and symbolism
The initial issues of the series are dedicated to the regions that were the first to fall under Russian aggression. On the reverse of each coin one oblast is highlighted, emphasizing the territorial integrity of the state and the unity of the regions.

The head of the National Bank noted that this series is intended to remind people of the inviolability of the state’s borders and the constitutional principle of territorial integrity. Each region reflects its own history, but together they form a single country.
Release and mintage
On December 1 the first three coins of the series entered circulation — depicting Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Minting is planned to continue over the next two years, dedicating releases to all oblasts of Ukraine; the total mintage of the series will be 54 million pieces.
The new issue will circulate alongside other 10‑hryvnia coins. Banks and cash-in-transit (CIT) companies will gradually receive these coins for distribution to customers.
As of November 1, 2025, almost 331 million 10‑hryvnia coins were in circulation.
- The commemorative 10‑hryvnia coin featuring a portrait of Hetman Mazepa first entered circulation in 2020.
- Since 2022 the National Bank has issued 13 commemorative 10‑hryvnia coins dedicated to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
