Bilohorodska community and the Red Cross: from first aid after a drone strike to official partnership

What began on the darkest night — after an enemy drone struck a residential building — has now become an official alliance. The Bilohorodska village council has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Bucha city-district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

From emergency response — to systematic work

The first interaction took place on January 28 at the site where a drone struck a multi-story building in the "White Chocolate" residential complex. At that time the organization's volunteers immediately joined the aftermath response: they distributed tarpaulins to temporarily cover damaged windows and supported residents during a difficult moment. Without unnecessary words or waiting — they simply came and did it.

Now this cooperation has been formalized. Village head Anton Ovsiyenko signed a memorandum of cooperation with the NGO "Bucha City and District Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society" together with the head of the organization, Valeriy Kudriy.

Concrete assistance — today

During the signing, the partners handed over a first-aid kit to the Local Fire Team of the Bilohorod Village Council. The kit includes dressings, antiseptics, bandages, flashlights and other necessary equipment for emergency response.

"I am convinced that this memorandum will become not simply a formality, but a real tool for joint work to ensure the safety and support of the residents of the Bilohorod community."

– Anton Ovsiyenko, Bilohorod village head

What’s next

The parties have already identified priority areas for further work. The Red Cross organization operates on several fronts at once: providing humanitarian aid, offering psychological support, and informing residents about mine hazards. For a community that endured a direct strike on a residential building, such a partner is not a ceremonial signature but a real reinforcement.
