On Friday, August 7, an atmospheric front will arrive in western Ukraine, bringing thunderstorms, heavy rain, and a drop in air temperature. The rest of the territory will remain hot. This was reported by weather forecaster Natalka Didenko, according to UNN.
According to her, in western regions the air temperature is expected to be around +24...+29 degrees, with rain expected. In the evening, heavy downpours, hail, and strong winds are possible in Vinnytsia region, and in some places in the north of the country. However, in all other territories, except western regions, thermometers will show +32...+39 degrees.
"In Kyiv on August 7, hot weather is expected with air temperatures of +33...+34 degrees. Most of the day will be without precipitation, but in the evening there will be rain with thunderstorms, with possible squalls and even heavy downpours," the weather forecaster's post states.
Didenko added that already on Saturday, August 8, the heat will "noticeably retreat" and remain only in the south and east.
What this means in practice
The atmospheric front is moving from west to east — this is a typical scenario for August, when rapid weather changes come after prolonged heat. The main risk on August 7 is not the heat itself, but the transitional period in the evening: squalls and hail can damage power grids and roads faster than +39 degree temperatures harm health.
The question for the coming days is simple: will the cyclone manage to cover central and eastern regions before the weekend, or will the heat persist there longer than predicted.
