District competitions: brief and to the point
As part of the III stage of the district competitions "Side-by-side. All-Ukrainian school leagues," fierce volleyball battles took place among girls. The team of 7th–9th grade students from the Irpin Academic Lyceum of NUBiP took the honorable first place and will now represent Bucha District at the regional stage, the Department of Education and Science of the Irpin City Council reported.
Composition of the winning team: Dariya Vernyhora, Olga Krasinska, Nikole Laguta, Anastasia Yakovchenko, Kateryna Bohomolna, Vira Hitko, Hanna Dashchenko, Kira Khmelyarska and Alona Filinska.
Behind every point scored are hours of persistent training and the work of a teacher. The team's preparation was carried out by Serhii Karpov, a physical education teacher, whose support helped the girls unlock their potential and play cohesively.
"I thank the coach for preparing the team. The regional stage is ahead — we’re getting ready to cheer even louder. I wish them not to stop at what they've achieved, drive on the court and only winning scores"
— Maria Hostin, Head of the Department of Education and Science of the Irpin City Council
Why this matters
This victory is not just a sporting result. It shows that investments in school sports and the steady work of coaches produce a noticeable effect: team skills, resilience and community cohesion are being formed. For Bucha District, this is a chance to demonstrate the level of youth preparation on a broader stage.
What’s next: the team is preparing for the regional stage. Support from fans and the school can become an additional resource for success — both on the court and off it.
Conclusion
The district victory of the Irpin girls is an example of effective school effort and local support. Ahead is the regional stage: it’s a chance to confirm the result and draw attention to the development of youth sports in the community.
