Estonia will allocate 3.5 million euros for Starlink systems for Ukraine through an IT coalition led by Estonia and Luxembourg, reported broadcaster ERR.

The funds will come from the aid package for Ukraine for the year 2025, according to the Estonian Ministry of Defense.

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur noted that Ukraine has confirmed the need for Starlink to support communication, which provides a tactical advantage on the battlefield.

"The capabilities of Starlink are especially important due to Ukraine's desire to significantly expand its drone units, which require high-performance internet connectivity," said Pevkur.

He added that Ukraine is fighting daily for the freedom of all of Europe, including Estonia, and that technological support, in addition to weapons, is crucial.
