French investigators have completely lifted the travel restrictions on Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, who was a subject of an investigation regarding possible facilitation of crimes through his messenger, reports Bloomberg.
Durov was detained in France in August 2024 after arriving by private jet at Paris airport. He was held for four days, charged, and required to post bail of 5 million euros. Since then, he had been unable to leave the country and was required to report to the police twice a week.
In June, the restrictions were partially eased – short trips to Dubai were allowed. On November 10, according to a new decision, all restrictions were lifted: Durov no longer needs to register with the police and can freely leave France.
Pavel Durov, represented by lawyers Christophe Engrand, David-Olivier Kaminski, and Robin Binsar, refrained from commenting through his spokesperson. The Paris prosecutor's office also did not respond to inquiries from Bloomberg journalists.
