Delivery of drones

Latvia, which leads the Drone Coalition, this year delivered approximately 12,000 drones to Ukraine. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky after a meeting with Foreign Minister Baiba Braže.

Defence and industrial cooperation

The parties discussed defence support, the PURL initiative and the possibilities of applying the SAFE mechanism. They also touched on prospects for joint production of weapons and drones. Ukraine and Latvia signed a Memorandum on defence‑industrial cooperation.

Diplomatic support and awards

Zelensky said that the positions of Ukraine and Latvia coincide regarding increased sanctions pressure on Russia. During the meeting, Minister Baiba Braže was awarded the Order of Merit, II class, for her contribution to strengthening cooperation and defending Ukraine's sovereignty. The President also thanked her for the visit to Chernihiv and for supporting the rebuilding of schools and kindergartens.
