Ukraine refutes claims about North Korean soldiers near Huliaipole

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Oleksandr Kovalenko, denied Russian reports about the presence of North Korean military personnel in the Zaporizhzhia direction. As of this morning, the information has not been confirmed. The official reported this on social media.

What Russia Spread

Propaganda resources claimed that North Korean soldiers were sent to the vicinity of Huliaipole after two months of training at training grounds. The number of allegedly involved North Koreans was not disclosed by the occupiers, nor did they provide photo or video evidence.

"As of 9:00 AM, the information from the Russians about the appearance of North Korean military personnel in the Zaporizhzhia direction has not been confirmed."

Other Enemy Disinformation

The occupiers also spread statements about the alleged encirclement of certain units of the Defense Forces in the Huliaipole direction. The Defense Forces refuted this on November 21, as well as claims about the presence of blocking units supposedly surrounding the troops.

Context

In November, South Korean intelligence reported that North Korea had sent 5,000 military builders to Russia. The Main Intelligence Directorate reported that Russia plans to bring in 12,000 North Koreans to assemble "Shahed" drones at a factory in Alabuzh.
