Technological response to energy challenges
While the national energy system is being strengthened, communities are switching to local generation. The received Energy BOX — is not just backup power, but a full-fledged 104 kW solar power plant. The technical specifications of the complex allow it to provide uninterrupted electricity even to large infrastructure facilities, which is critically important in conditions of instability.
According to local authorities, the first such station is already being prepared for launch: a special site has been set up for it. The second "energy box" will also be integrated into the community grid in the near future. This approach creates a decentralized reserve of resilience that is much harder to put out of operation.
"The cost of the two solar power plants – nearly UAH 16.8 million. And this is a significant contribution from partners to strengthening the energy independence of the Bilohorodka community"
– Anton Ovsiienko, Bilohorodka village head
Investing in resilience
The handover of the costly equipment is a signal of long-term support for Ukraine from European partners. The project was implemented thanks to direct cooperation between the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (KOVA) and the government of France.
Experts note that such "turnkey" solutions from Western donors not only address current needs but also lay the foundation for a modern, "green" and independent energy sector in the regions. For residents of Bilohorodka this means a tangible result: electricity and heat at socially important facilities will be guaranteed.
