The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has issued a 20-year ban on French tennis player Quentin Follio and fined him $70,000 for involvement in match-fixing.

ITIA ruling

The agency found that 26-year-old Follio committed 27 breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program. He was ordered to repay more than $44,000, identified as corrupt payments. The ban will remain in effect until May 2044.

In 2022 Follio was ranked 488th in the world. He denied 30 charges relating to 11 matches between 2022 and 2024.

Nature of the violations

The investigation found that Follio played a central role in a network of players acting on behalf of a syndicate that organized fixed matches.

  • manipulating results
  • accepting payments in exchange for not giving full effort
  • offering bribes to other participants
  • providing inside information
  • collusion with other players
  • refusal to cooperate with the investigation
  • destruction of evidence
