A practical nuance: if you follow the old Julian calendar, today for you is not Savior, but Makrina's Day — and the fast will begin later. This means that even the question of "when to celebrate" has become part of a broader discussion about church identity in Ukraine.
Childfree and scouts: two ways to belong to a community
International Childfree Day emerged as a response to social pressure regarding "mandatory" parenthood. This holiday is not about denying children, but about the right to choose — a topic that still provokes arguments even in liberal societies.
Meanwhile, scouts around the world wear official scarves, emphasizing a different type of belonging — to a movement built on discipline, service, and shared values across generations.
A medical date easy to overlook among holidays
