Recommendations for road users

Drivers are advised to exercise caution when driving in fog and to take the following safety measures:

  • if fog lights are available, switch them on together with low beams;
  • maintain a safe distance from other vehicles;
  • when stopped, turn on hazard lights;
  • avoid sudden maneuvers on the road.

Pedestrians are advised to be vigilant and wear reflective elements — flickers — to increase visibility to drivers in fog and in the dark.

The Carpathians are reporting cloudiness and below-zero temperatures; tourists were reminded of safety rules while staying in the mountains.
