On July 20, sales of the Mijia Smart Tea Bar Pro Vertical began on Xiaomi's crowdfunding platform Youpin — a tea station that combines an instant hot water dispenser, automatic tea brewing, and a sterilizing cabinet for cups. The price is 1099 yuan, approximately $165.
Two circuits, one machine
The device is structurally built on two physically separate hydraulic circuits. The first delivers hot water in three seconds — for those who simply want to pour water into a cup. The second brings water to a boil in 15 seconds and automatically brews tea. Xiaomi insists that the circuits do not intersect, so the tea's taste is not "contaminated" by residue from plain hot water.
The tank is designed for 5.5 liters. Five temperature modes are available — allowing you to select the optimal setting for green, white, oolong, or black tea. In addition to presets, the Xiaomi Home app allows you to save your own brewing recipes.
Sterilization — not marketing
The lower part of the housing is a separate 10-liter compartment that holds 8 to 15 cups. Inside is UVC ultraviolet light plus hot air at 70°C. According to independent testing cited by Xiaomi, the process eliminates at least 99.99% of bacteria, spores, and fungi. This is not "steam cleaning" from the advertising brochures of cheaper devices — UVC in household appliances is a proven disinfection method used, among other things, in medical equipment.

Voice and display
The station supports voice commands through Xiao AI — Xiaomi's proprietary voice assistant. The display shows the current status in real time and notifications, which, according to the company, makes the device convenient for any age.
What was left behind the scenes
- The device was launched through crowdfunding on Youpin — not through the official retail channel, meaning it is not yet a guaranteed mass-produced product.
- There are no dates or hints about release outside the Chinese market.
- A cup capacity of 10 liters with a total tank of 5.5 liters means the sterilizer takes up more space than the kettle itself — important for small kitchens.
- Water filtration is not mentioned in the specifications, which is critical for hard tap water.
$165 for a combination of a dispenser, brewer, and UVC sterilizer is a price lower than a separate quality electric kettle plus a dish sterilizer in most European stores. If crowdfunding confirms serial production, there is one question: will Xiaomi bring this device to the international market before competitors copy the format — or will it remain another convenient gadget unavailable outside Tmall?
