Google officially announced Gemini Intelligence — a set of AI features that integrate directly into Android at the operating system level. This is not a separate app or a cloud service with a subscription — the company positions it as a built-in intelligent layer for the entire device ecosystem.
The first devices to receive support will be the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Google Pixel 10 — flagship series of the two largest players in the Android market. After that, the features will gradually appear on other devices.
And here's where it gets interesting: Google directly named target categories — smartwatches, cars, glasses, and Android notebooks. This means we're not talking about a phone update, but an attempt to make Gemini a cross-cutting intelligence for everything that runs Android.
The company's logic is clear: Apple integrates its own Apple Intelligence across the entire lineup — from iPhone to Mac. Google responds in kind, but through an open platform with dozens of manufacturers. The challenge here is not technical, but coordination — convincing a Hyundai or Xiaomi to implement these features the way Mountain View intended.
Google hasn't yet revealed specific capabilities of Gemini Intelligence in detail — it's only known that the features will cover text, images, and voice interactions in the context of the device. In other words, classic on-device AI with personalization based on what's happening directly on your gadget.
The real question is not whether Gemini Intelligence will appear on the Galaxy S26, but whether the owner of a three-year-old mid-range Android smartphone — of which there are incomparably more in the world than flagships — will get it.
