HMD and Xplora Release Kids' Phone Without App Stores

HMD, in partnership with Xplora, introduced the XploraOne — a small phone for children on which third-party apps cannot be installed. The device also blocks access to social networks and the web browser, including Instagram and TikTok.

Features and restrictions

The model is designed only for basic needs: it lacks an app store, and calls can only be made to pre-approved numbers. Parents are provided with tools to regulate the phone’s time and usage modes. Photo viewing and calendar entries are available.

Technical specifications

The device is equipped with a 3.2‑inch display with a resolution of 320×240 pixels, a UNISOC T127 processor, a 2 MP camera and a 1950 mAh battery. It has a standard 3.5 mm audio jack.

The manufacturer has not yet announced the final price or the sales start date.

In addition, HMD announced its first laptop, the Chromebook CS‑1 Flip. Meanwhile, Samsung showed a slim Galaxy TriFold smartphone with a tri-fold design.
