What it's about
The Estonian technology conference Latitude59 has announced the start of applications for a pitch competition for early-stage startups. The organizers are inviting Ukrainian teams as well: 15 teams will be selected to advance to the semifinals and receive mentorship support. The final will take place on May 22 on the conference's main stage, which will be held from May 20 to 22 at the Kultuurikatel venue.
"Applications are open until April 15, 2026. We will select 15 teams for the semifinals; the final — May 22 on Latitude59's main stage."

Why this matters for Ukrainian startups
Access to capital and networks. Platforms like Latitude59 provide not only money but a contact network of investors, mentors, and potential partners in the EU. Ukrainian teams are already showing results: in 2024 the startup Beholder (AI) won and received €600,000; in 2025 the total amount of investments within the competition amounted to €675,000 with support from business angels LitBAN, LatBAN, and EstBAN.
"Angel networks see both technological expertise and a pragmatic approach to scaling in Ukrainian teams. Competitions in Estonia give exactly that — mentorship and access to investors."

Context: from startup to market recognition
This matters not only for neat numbers in a presentation. Recent examples show the trajectory: defense startup Farsight Vision raised €7.2 million, and a company of a Ukrainian in the U.S., Thermopylae, received $1.6 million for interceptor drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such deals signal to investors that Ukrainian technologies operate under high demands and have commercial value.
What Ukrainian teams should do
Applications can be submitted until April 15, 2026. The 15 selected teams will receive mentorship support before the semifinals; the final is on May 22. For a startup, this is a chance to receive not only a check but also a validated roadmap for entering European markets.
This is not an emotional headline but a practical tool: mentorship, investor contacts, and a chance for funding. Whether the Ukrainian ecosystem will make full use of this opportunity is a question not only of the teams' technical level but also of their readiness to sell their product to the world.
