Lenovo at MWC 2026: ThinkTab X11 — rugged tablet with a battery-free mode, Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 — for productivity

Two new tablets powered by the same 10,200 mAh battery: one designed for harsh environments and secure stationary terminals, the other for office and creative work. Why this matters for business and infrastructure.

In brief — why read

At MWC 2026 Lenovo showed two tablets that differ not only in specs but also in positioning: one — for field and service use, the other — for offices and creativity. Both use the same battery capacity of 10,200 mAh, but it’s the features and certifications that make these models interesting for enterprises, government services and mobile teams.

ThinkTab X11: rugged and with a “Batteryless” mode

The ThinkTab X11 is Lenovo’s first rugged Android tablet certified IP68 and MIL-STD-810H. The key novelty is the Batteryless Mode: the tablet can operate without an installed or active battery when connected to a dock or used as a stationary terminal. For services where control over power units and equipment longevity matters, this offers practical benefits — fewer battery replacements, fewer vulnerabilities at disposal and convenience when working at fixed stations.

Technical specs: 10.95" display (2560 × 1600, 90 Hz), Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, 12 GB RAM, storage up to 512 GB. Includes 5G, Wi‑Fi 6E, two USB‑C ports and NFC. Estimated price in Europe — from €500.

“Batteryless Mode allows the tablet to be used as a permanent terminal without the risks associated with a battery — this is useful for infrastructure and field solutions,”

Idea Tab Pro Gen 2: screen and power for work

The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is aimed at performance and multimedia: a 13" LCD with a resolution of 3540 × 2190 and a 144 Hz refresh rate, 600 nits typical brightness and up to 800 nits peak. Platform — Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in an 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage configuration with the option to expand via microSD. Connectivity — Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6; audio — four JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos support; charging — 45 W.

What else to know

Both models share the same 10,200 mAh battery across the lineup, but address different tasks: the ThinkTab X11 — for security, logistics and industrial applications; the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 — for office work, remote learning and media production. Lenovo also presented the XD Rollable flexible laptop concept and confirmed that pricing changes are related to a memory shortage in the market — a factor affecting the cost of final devices.

Context and conclusion

Lenovo — one of the PC market leaders — is betting on endurance and versatility. For Ukraine and partners operating in difficult conditions, it’s not just display or processor numbers that matter, but the ability to operate a device with limited logistics and heightened security requirements. While manufacturers show concepts and new configurations, organizations should assess whether the new hardware architecture delivers real benefits for field operation and maintenance.

Forecast: these solutions will most likely find niches in the public sector, logistics and corporate deployments where durability and manageability are important. The next step — testing in real conditions and confirming the claimed usage scenarios.
