The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a series of strikes against important enemy targets on the night of August 5, 2026 and before that. These include drone control points, a crossing in Donetsk region, and a supply depot in Crimea.
What exactly was hit
According to the General Staff, enemy drone control points suffered fire damage in several areas: near Mali Shcherbaky in Zaporizhzhia region, near Konstantynivka, Chasiv Yar and Zelenе Pole in Donetsk region, as well as in the Volfino area of Kursk region of the Russian Federation. A separate strike was delivered against an enemy control point near Bakhmut.
"Enemy drone control points were hit in the areas of Mali Shcherbaky in Zaporizhzhia region, Konstantynivka, Chasiv Yar and Zelenе Pole in Donetsk region, as well as Volfino in Kursk region of the Russian Federation," the General Staff said.
Crossing as a logistics artery
The General Staff separately emphasized the strike on the crossing over the Mokri Yaly River in the Veseloe area of Donetsk region.
"Additionally, a crossing over the Mokri Yaly River in the Veseloe area of Donetsk region was hit, which the enemy uses for military logistics, transferring personnel, weapons and supplies," the General Staff noted.
This is not the first time Ukrainian forces have deliberately attacked crossings in this sector of the front. Bridges and fords across small rivers in Donetsk region often become bottlenecks for enemy logistics - there are few alternative routes for heavy equipment in these areas, so destroying one crossing can paralyze supply to an entire section for days or weeks.
Strike deep into occupied Crimea
In addition to front-line targets, Ukrainian fighters attacked an enemy supply depot in Ishun on the territory of annexed Crimea.
"Our fighters also struck an enemy supply depot in Ishun (Crimea)," the General Staff reported.
Strikes against depots deep in the occupied peninsula are a continuation of the strategy that the Defense Forces have been applying for more than a year: destroying ammunition and equipment before they reach the front lines, rather than trying to stop them directly on the battlefield.
What this means for the front
The combination of strikes - against drone control points, crossings and rear depots - indicates an attempt to simultaneously weaken the enemy's intelligence capabilities and cut off their resupply routes. How long it will take the occupiers to restore the destroyed crossing over the Mokri Yaly River and whether they can quickly establish alternative logistics will be shown in the coming week of fighting in this section of Donetsk region.
