The company "Axon Shipping," which specializes in tugboat escort services and vessel safety in the port waters of Pivdennyy Port, continues its operations within the "Ukrainian maritime corridor." This was announced by company co-owner Sergiy Nazarenko.

Work under constant shelling

According to Nazarenko, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the company has experienced complete port shutdowns and local restrictions due to infrastructure strikes. Despite this, "Axon" maintains operational capability.

"During the period of military operations, we managed to handle 1,815 vessels, and this is despite constant difficulties in our work due to enemy attacks," said Sergiy Nazarenko.

Action algorithm during air alerts

The company has developed a standard safety procedure for crews during air raids:

  • stopping vessel maneuvers;
  • proceeding to a dangerous anchorage or departing from the dock;
  • sheltering the crew in internal vessel compartments.

"People are our top priority," added Nazarenko.

1,815 vessels handled during the war is an indicator that the logistical chain of the maritime corridor depends on the daily work of specific crews and companies, not merely on the corridor's status as such. The question is whether this infrastructure will withstand increased export volumes if the intensity of port shelling grows.
