On the night of July 31st, Russia launched a missile strike on a logistics center in Vyshneve near Kyiv. As a result of the strike, a warehouse belonging to one of Ukraine's largest board game publishers, Rozum, was completely destroyed. This was reported by the Factor group of companies, which includes the publishing house.
"This strike is not only against cardboard boxes, but also against a cultural product that popularizes the Ukrainian language, develops a culture of shared leisure, unites people in these difficult times, and teaches children through play," said the Factor group of companies.
The warehouse stored all of Rozum's products – 200,000 board games were destroyed. All available copies of world and Ukrainian bestsellers were completely destroyed, including CATAN, "Exploding Kittens," "Who's on Top?" based on the show of the same name, "Dilettante Club," and many others.
The company estimates the losses at approximately 25-30 million hryvnia.
"However, the most important thing is that there were no casualties," emphasized the Factor group of companies.
Rozum has been operating in the market for eight years. The publisher's products are represented in all retail chains in Ukraine.
This year, the publishing house plans to release games based on licenses such as "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?", "The Bachelor," "Super Mom," and "Love on Survival." A separate line of games based on the "Harry Potter" book series was planned for autumn.
Rozum is currently assessing damages and planning next steps. Company leaders assure that they will definitely resume operations and continue creating board games for Ukrainians.
Series of Strikes on Civilian Infrastructure
- On the night of July 29th, during a massive attack on Ukraine, Russia struck the Kalush Production HUB industrial park in Ivano-Frankivsk region for the second time since September.
- On the morning of August 1st, a Russian "Shahed" drone attacked a warehouse of Ukraine's largest online retailer Rozetka in Brovary. One of the 270 employees present there was killed, seven wounded.
- The same day, as a result of Russian drone attacks, millions of books stored in a warehouse of the "Ranok" publishing house and the "KnigoLand" bookstore chain in Kharkiv were destroyed.
Logistics centers and civilian product warehouses are increasingly appearing on the target list: does this mean that businesses will transition to distributed inventory storage instead of centralized hubs?
