Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry lodged a protest with Kyiv over a strike on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal in Novorossiysk. Kazakhstan called it the third "act of aggression" against a civilian facility and expects measures to prevent such incidents.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan on 30 November lodged a protest over an attack on the critical infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the waters of the seaport of Novorossiysk.

"We view the incident as an action that harms bilateral relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Ukraine, and expect the Ukrainian side to take effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future."

Official representative of the foreign ministry Aibek Smadiyarov said that this is already the third deliberate "act of aggression" against an allegedly purely civilian facility.

Kazakhstan called itself a responsible participant in the global energy market, advocating for the preservation of resilience and uninterrupted energy supplies.

"We emphasize that the CPC plays a significant role in supporting the stability of the global energy system."

Context

On 29 November the Caspian Pipeline Consortium reported a suspension of operations and the loss of one of its berths after a drone attack. The terminal handles more than 1% of the world's oil.
