Russia attacked the international ferry crossing checkpoint "Orlivka" on the border with Romania with strike unmanned aerial vehicles, causing it to temporarily cease operations. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.
Direct hits were recorded on the building and territory of the checkpoint, with fires breaking out on site. Currently, the processing of citizens and vehicles through this checkpoint has been suspended. The Romanian side has been notified of this.
Transport is being redirected to other checkpoints. Ukrainians are asked to take this information into account when planning to cross the state border.
The international checkpoint "Orlivka" is a ferry crossing over the Danube River connecting Ukraine with Romania between the village of Orlivka in Odesa region and the Romanian city of Isaccea. The distance to the Romanian bank is 900 meters, with the ferry crossing taking 7–8 minutes. This checkpoint reduces the route to Southern European countries and Turkey by 200 km.

Strikes on border infrastructure on the Danube are repeated with a certain regularity – the logic here is not in a one-time effect, but in gradual pressure on export logistics routes and border crossings. The question is whether this will lead to permanent redistribution of load to neighboring checkpoints, or whether "Orlivka" will be restored after each attack.
