Former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, who submitted his resignation on November 28, said he is not angry with the president because they have always been friends.

"He was my friend before this job, and I will remember him afterward."

– Yermak said in a conversation with the Financial Times.

Results of negotiations in Geneva

Andriy Yermak recalled the results of talks on Donald Trump's peace plan, in which he took part.

"The delegation under my leadership in Geneva, together with our American partners, ensured that the 28-point document no longer exists."

– Yermak said, noting that the revised peace plan has now been reduced to 19 points, more acceptable to Kyiv.

"There are a few difficult points left to agree on, and I believe that is possible. In any case, the president, despite the pressure, will not sign or approve anything that contradicts Ukraine's interests."

– he added.

Circumstances of the resignation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the resignation of the head of his office, Andriy Yermak, on November 28. Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, was appointed as the new head of the Ukrainian negotiating group in place of Yermak.

Earlier that day anti-corruption officials conducted searches at Yermak's premises as part of an investigation into large-scale embezzlement at Energoatom, the company that manages all nuclear power plants in Ukraine. Investigators did not bring formal charges against Yermak.

Plans for the future

Yermak himself, after his resignation became known, said he intends to go to the front. Former member of parliament and now servicewoman Tetyana Chornovol has already said she is ready to take the dismissed Yermak into her platoon as a Mavic drone pilot for drop operations.
