Police have opened a criminal case into the death of a man in the Pecherskyi district of Kyiv. It concerns 41-year-old Dmytro Kadenyuk, the son of the late first Ukrainian cosmonaut Leonid Kadenyuk.
Course of the investigation
Investigators, forensic specialists, operatives and a forensic medical expert worked at the scene. Specialists carried out initial investigative actions: they inspected the scene, reviewed video recordings from surveillance cameras and interviewed witnesses.
Circumstances of the death
According to preliminary findings, the apartment's entrance door was closed and showed no signs of forced entry. A knife, which likely caused the injuries, was found in the deceased's hand. Residents of the building did not hear any noise or screams, which indicates there was no struggle at the scene.

On this basis, investigators of the Pechersky Police Department opened proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — intentional murder with the additional designation "suicide". The body has been sent for a forensic medical examination to establish the final cause of death.
The body of Dmytro Kadenyuk was found on Wednesday, December 10, in the Pecherskyi district of Kyiv.
