On the evening of July 1, Russia launched a mass attack on Kyiv, which became one of the most severe for the capital in terms of scale. Kyiv City Military Administration Chief Timur Tkachenko warned of a multi-stage attack threat before debris began falling on the city — and the forecast came true.
Combined weapons: not just "Shaheds"
The enemy used not only attack drones. According to the Air Force, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and "Zircons" were also heading toward the capital. Some of the drones were reactive — they attacked Kyiv simultaneously from the east and west. It is precisely this combination of weapon types that complicates air defense work: different targets require different interception means.
Kyivans, air defense units are now operating near the capital against enemy targets. There is a possibility of further movement of attack UAVs in the direction of the capital. There is also a possibility of a combined attack in the coming days. Stay in shelters until the all-clear!

Seven districts, real addresses
Debris and hits were recorded in seven districts of Kyiv. According to the State Emergency Service:
- Shevchenko District: fire on the common roof of a 7-story residential building and a hotel building; destruction of a 5-story building; fire in a 5-story residential building; market caught fire.
- Desnyansky District: UAV debris fell near a private house, no fire.
- Darnitsky District: partial destruction of 5-, 9-, and 16-story buildings and private houses.
- Pecherskiy District: destruction of a 9-story building, fire on two floors.
- Holosiivsky District: fire on the technical floor of a 16-story building.
- Sviatoshynsky District: two private houses damaged, people trapped in one.
- Obolonskiy District: fire at a warehouse site.
Strike on the "ambulance": injured medics
A separate incident — a hit near an ambulance station in Shevchenko District. According to local authorities, five people were injured — medics and drivers. This is not a random address: ambulance stations are located in residential areas throughout the city.
Night summary
According to preliminary data from the State Emergency Service, 2 people were killed, 12 were injured, and 16 were rescued. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed a fire at a hotel in the city center — firefighters arrived at the scene while the alarm was still active.
Zelenskyy warned of a mass strike during a press conference in Ireland the same day — intelligence detected takeoffs of Tu-95MS strategic bombers from Olenyy airbase.
If Russia is indeed moving to systematic combined strikes — drones plus ballistics plus "Zircons" simultaneously — the question is not whether air defense can withstand the next wave, but how many interception systems Kyiv will receive before it.
