Ukrainian interceptor drone manufacturer "General Cheresniya" and French defense technology company Alta Ares signed a memorandum of strategic partnership. The companies announced this on Monday, August 3.
The partnership involves integrating French company's artificial intelligence systems into the Ukrainian Bullet interceptor drone. Within the cooperation framework, Bullet will integrate two Alta Ares developments: the Pixel Lock system, which provides guidance on the final flight stage, and the Cyclop C2 system, responsible for target tracking during flight.
According to the companies, both systems use computer vision and combine data from multiple sensors to detect, track, and intercept aerial targets even in conditions of GPS signal loss and active electronic warfare measures.
Experience Plus Technology
Co-founder of "General Cheresniya" Stanislav Hryshyn noted that the Bullet drone is already used in combat conditions, where operation without GPS and under the influence of electronic warfare is a common situation.
"Alta Ares has strong expertise in artificial intelligence, we have a drone tested by war. Together this is already a finished product, not a prototype," he said.
General Director of Alta Ares Adrien Canter stated that the partnership will combine the Ukrainian manufacturer's combat experience with artificial intelligence technologies to create a new generation of autonomous counter-drone systems.
"General Cheresniya" also emphasized that the cooperation became another step in developing international cooperation based on Ukrainian combat experience.
Company's Previous Steps
- In April, "General Cheresniya" and Croatian UAV manufacturer Orqa launched serial production of European components for unmanned aircraft.
- On May 4, the "General Cheresniya" team together with the STRIX technology center announced a partnership for developing solutions using artificial intelligence and counter-air threat measures.
- On July 27, the company became the first in Ukraine to receive a license for private air defense.
The key question is how quickly the Pixel Lock and Cyclop C2 systems will pass testing in real combat conditions on the front, where electronic warfare and GPS absence have already become the norm rather than an exception.
