The sole contender for the capital repair tender turned out to be the private enterprise Kyivshlyakhbud. The works concern a section of Lobanovskyi Avenue in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district.

On November 24 Kyivavtodor initiated the tender announcement with an expected amount of UAH 803.4 million; Kyivshlyakhbud's bid amounts to almost UAH 785 million.

Work plan and technical solutions

The avenue was constructed in 1964 and was last subject to a major overhaul more than two decades ago.

At Kyivavtodor's request, design documentation was prepared and approved for the section between Volodymyr Brozhko Street and Sevastopol Square.

The project envisages renewing the carriageway and sidewalks, reconstructing the stormwater drainage networks, reconfiguring the street lighting and installing bicycle infrastructure. It also plans to create dedicated left-turn storage lanes to increase traffic capacity, lower curbs at pedestrian crossings and install tactile wayfinding aids for barrier-free access.

  • On October 5 a major overhaul of Kharkiv Highway in Kyiv began, worth about UAH 1 billion; the contractor is Avtostrada.
  • At the end of November Avtostrada won the tender for the major overhaul of the overpass with an interchange near Chernihivska metro station.
  • On December 5 Kyivavtodor commissioned the repair of the overpass near Vydubychi station for UAH 278 million.
