On December 10 at 10:00 a.m. in Kyiv the renovated Bessarabsky Market opened in test mode. Traditional market trading has been preserved, and a food hall featuring international cuisines and a bar has been introduced. The modernization included new refrigeration and retail equipment; the works were scheduled from May 19 to August 19, 2025, with no interference in the landmark's authentic elements.

Bessarabsky Market in Kyiv has reopened after reconstruction.

The official launch took place on December 10 at 10:00; the market is currently operating in test mode.

Concept and equipment

The traditional trading section has been preserved; at the same time, the building is planned to house a food hall with kitchens from various countries and a bar.

The Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA) earlier reported that modern lightweight refrigeration and commercial-technological systems are to be installed in the municipal enterprise's building.

The works were scheduled from May 19 to August 19, 2025; no interventions into the structural or authentic elements of the architectural monument of national significance, the "Covered Market," were to be made. At the same time, the layout of trading places was to be optimized.
