Defending the community's interests: an official response to the price hike
In recent days residents of the community have faced a sharp rise in fare prices and unsatisfactory service on minibuses. Although the village council does not have direct influence over the pricing of private companies, it is not standing aside. As of today, January 21, official inquiries demanding explanations have already been sent to the Kyiv Oblast State Administration (KODA) Transport Infrastructure Department, Ukrtransbezpeka and the carrier companies: LLC «EURO-AUTO-ALLIANCE», LLC «Klayt» and PE «Nadiya-2000».
"I understand residents' concerns and share their position. We are working so that transport connections are affordable, fair and convenient for people."
– Anton Ovsiienko, Bilohorodka village head
Municipal transport: the road to independence
For Bilohorodka, creating its own routes is not just a plan but a strategic decision that has been prepared since 2025. Specialists from «DerzhavtotransNDIproekt» have already conducted a scientific study, and more than 1,600 community residents helped identify the most important directions through a survey. This is social proof that the community is ready for change.
Which routes are being prepared for launch:
- Route No. 1: Nehrashi–Muzychi–Luka–Hnativka–Horenychi–Stoyanka–Shevchenkove–Bilohorodka — organized by the village council.
- Route No. 2: Bilohorodka–Svyatopetrivske–Vyshneve–Sofiivska Borshchahivka–Kyiv (Akademmistechko metro station) — a request to open this route has already been sent to the Kyiv Regional State Administration.
European standard: buses from Prague serving the community
Instead of outdated minibuses, the community plans to use modern low-floor buses. The resources for this are already available: three vehicles were donated as humanitarian aid by the municipality of Prague, and three more were purchased earlier. The goal is ambitious — to make trips to Kyiv as accessible as possible, drawing on the experience of free transportation within the community.
Context: Experts emphasize that developing its own transport network is a step toward safety and stability. Currently the community is awaiting responses from the regulatory authorities within the time limits established by law.
