Family dies in Bilohorodka after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning

A tragedy occurred in the village of Bilohorodka in Bucha district — the bodies of three people were found in a private home, the prosecutor’s office reported.

According to preliminary information, a 56-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman and their 11-year-old daughter were found without signs of life. A 4-year-old son of the couple was also in the house — the child was hospitalized in serious condition.

Law enforcement officials say the likely cause of the tragedy is carbon monoxide poisoning, which may have occurred due to a malfunction of the gas heating boiler.

The circumstances of the incident are being determined. An investigation is underway.
