Ukraine responded to Kazakhstan's statements
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that no actions by the Ukrainian side are directed against the Republic of Kazakhstan. It emphasized that all state resources are concentrated on repelling Russia's full-scale military aggression.
The MFA statement stressed that Ukraine is acting within the right to self-defense guaranteed by Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Ukraine's goal — to weaken Russia's military machine
Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi explained that, as part of strategically justified defensive operations, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically reducing Russia's military-industrial capacity and depriving it of the ability to wage a war of aggression.
«Ukraine is striking back in response to the aggressor's strikes and attacks. The only factor destabilizing the Black Sea region and beyond remains Russian aggression,»
– the MFA said.
The MFA recalled Kazakhstan's lack of reaction to Russian strikes on Ukraine
The Ukrainian foreign ministry drew attention to the fact that Kazakhstan had not issued statements condemning the mass Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities, residential buildings and critical infrastructure.
The MFA recalled that just two days earlier Russia carried out a nine-hour combined attack, which resulted in civilian deaths and injuries, and left at least 500,000 residents of Kyiv and more than 100,000 people in the Kyiv region without power.
Call to stop Russia's war
Ukraine called on all parties to direct their efforts towards compelling Russia to end the war against the Ukrainian people.
The MFA also reaffirmed its readiness to further develop friendly and pragmatic relations with Kazakhstan, stressing the historically strong ties between the peoples.
