Italian fashion house Versace announced the departure of creative director Dario Vitale just eight months after his appointment. The announcement appeared on Thursday, two days after Prada Group completed the purchase of the brand for €1.375 billion in cash.
We would like to sincerely thank Dario for his outstanding contribution to the development of the brand’s creative strategy during this transitional period and wish him all the best in his future endeavors

Reason and timing of the departure
Vitale, who became the third creative director in the house’s history after Gianni and Donatella Versace, will leave the company on December 12. He was appointed in April, and his first collection under his direction was shown in September.
Successor and leadership
The name of the successor has not yet been announced; until a permanent creative director is appointed, chief executive Emanuele Ginzburg has been entrusted with leading the creative team. The takeover of Versace by Prada was completed after lengthy negotiations between the parties.
