Sales volumes and plan

The enterprise forecasts selling about 140,000 trees this season. The forestry enterprises of "Forests of Ukraine" manage roughly 2,700 hectares of dedicated Christmas-tree plantations, where there are currently about 7.8 million coniferous plants.

Prices and regions

Prices for New Year's conifer trees are affordable and have changed little compared with last year

Overall, the cost of trees varies: for common conifers — from 210 to 250 UAH, for spruce and fir — roughly 240–280 UAH. In regions with a weaker resource base in the East and South, especially near large cities (Dnipro, Odesa, Mykolaiv), prices are somewhat higher. The lowest offers from forestry units are recorded in the northern and Polissya regions — Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv oblasts.

Some branches also sell trees in containers; their cost starts at 500 UAH and increases depending on the size of the plant.

Legality and proceeds

The enterprise transfers nearly half of its revenues from the sale of forestry products to the state budget in the form of taxes and fees. This year "Forests of Ukraine" directed about 15 billion UAH to the budget, nearly double last year's figure.

Buyers can verify the legality of a purchased tree on the enterprise's website: each tree is tagged with a barcode tag or a self-adhesive label.
