In response to heating and power outages in Kyiv, a practical support network is being launched for the most vulnerable groups: 100 additional places for temporary accommodation of single people with limited mobility and hot meals at dozens of locations.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Kyiv City State Administration, just yesterday residents received more than 6,400 portions of hot food at 57 locations. Today they plan to prepare over 6,500 more portions. Operation partners — World Central Kitchen, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and the State Emergency Service — provide preparation and distribution, while city services coordinate targeted assistance.

Logistics and partnership
Deploying overnight places, warming centers and field kitchens is a rapid combination of city resources and international assistance. World Central Kitchen and the Red Cross handle preparation and distribution, the State Emergency Service and city services coordinate locations and process requests. In Troyeshchyna, tent camps have also been set up for emergency shelter due to heating and power shutdowns.
