A Spirit Stronger Than the Cold: Bilohorodska Community United in Prayer for Ukraine’s Liberation

While the enemy seeks to sow despair, Ukraine's home front is turning into an unbreakable spiritual fortress. Today the lakeshore in Shevchenkove (opposite the City Lake residential complex) became a place of strength for hundreds of residents of the Bilohorodska community: here they were not simply blessing water, but forging a shared faith in victory and praying for the warriors who hold the skies on the "zero" line.

Shared strength: how the community and energy workers prepared "Yordan"

Preparations for the great rite began at dawn, when most residents were just waking up. It was a coordinated effort in which everyone felt responsible for their neighbor. From 5 a.m. local utility workers were arranging an ice hole in the shape of a cross, ensuring safety and order at the site.

Cooperation with the state sector played a special role — Energoatom specialists quickly set up tents on the shore and installed generators. Thanks to this care, residents were able to warm up and feel comfortable even on a frosty day, which became another proof that when we act together, no cold can frighten us.

"We ask that the Lord cleanse our Ukraine of the invader with this holy water, which He has sanctified by His divine presence. To wash away all impurities from our country and grant us the long-awaited peace."

– Father Volodymyr, cleric of the parish in honor of Saint Michael the Archangel

"The best year": emotions that warm

For many residents this year's immersion was symbolic. Despite the low temperature, the atmosphere on the shore was filled with uplift. People note that genuine snow and frost added a special energy to the celebration that was missing in previous years.

Western analysts often emphasize that moments of national unity like these are the foundation of Ukrainian resilience. In Shevchenkove this was noticeable in every detail: from the first brave people who plunged into the icy water to the sincere greetings sent to comrades at the front.

Context: Why this matters

The Epiphany celebration in the Bilohorod community has long gone beyond a religious rite. It is an act of cultural and spiritual resistance. Online users have already noted the high level of organization and community unity. After the traditional bathing everyone was served hot kasha, turning the reporting event into a true family gathering of a large community.

We remember: our strength is in the people. And as long as we are able to pray together, help one another and support the army, Ukraine remains invincible.
